I normally use DVD Workshop for my authoring but thought it was time to experiment with the new SmartScene Menus in VideoStudio 10+ and also MovieFactory 5. I have made a discovery that occurs exactly the same with both programs which I did not expect.
I took a 90 minute film which was in DVD compliant MPEG2 format and so ready for authoring. The procedure I followed was exactly the same in VS10+ and also MF5.
I would firstly ask the program to auto generate chapters at 3 minute intervals and then I moved on to the Menu stage. So I have one film containing several chapters.
I then selected SmartScene Menu 05_One S03 - the two tone grey one that has the grid of boxes. I used that same menu for the Main Menu and also the Chapter menus.
I checked the Menu in and the Menu Out transitions were present on the Main Menu and also the Chapter menus. (bottom right of the Edit Tab) the first one with the 'X' was NOT selected.
I found that moving from the Main Menu to the chapter Menu or back again would include a menu transition. No matter what I tried I couldn't get a Menu Transition when moving between pages on the chapter Menus. Is this Normal?
