When putting to gether a DVD I often include both photos and video.
I generally do a chapter at a time - make a video of each chapter and then when I burn the DVD I combine videos making each a chapter.
Here is my question
Photo chapters are easy to set up appropriate project properties for MPG2 but occassionally one chapter may be a clip from analog input (eg upper field first) if I retain these project properties when I do the video, when I combine the chapters I end up with chapters that do not all have the same properties.
What is the best approach
- should I change the properties of the analog input when I do the video so that the properties match the rest of the DVD?
Please give me your thoughts
Thanks
Pete

There are two methods of mixing and matching video with photographs.
In fact take it even further - mixing and matching videos from different sources such as analogue / digital.
Method 1.
Keep each source video file separate and create a DVD compliant MPEG2 file with the appropriate field order for the source of that video.
Now in the Authoring stage import these videos so that they are separate titles. You may if you wish include chapters for all or some of those titles.
Method 2.
Dependant upon the project in hand you may wish to have a video where you have short clips or slideshows mixed in. I did this last year with a video of San Francisco, I wanted to include a short extract from a Hollywood Film that was able to highlight all those bumpy roads better than I could film them with my camcorder. I also often throw in still image photo slideshows into my videos.
Here I have found that you get best results by creating a video file using the settings "Same as first Video Clip" and also applying the anti-flicker filter.
