I already did Quote. BUT, since you did not comprehend, once again!
The license agreement states One User per One Computer, not five people per computer, nor one copy per five computers. Read the EULA you agreed to when you installed the software.
Which by the way, has nothing to do with programming. This trite idea is based on the routine protection against “Software Piracy” and “Copyright Violation.”
Combo.dll does a version check of Ulead to find out if it is Trial, Full, Standard, Single, or Network.
I hope that clarifies and helps!

That would be the most stupid idea around. But wait, it is Ulead...keenart wrote:I already did Quote. BUT, since you did not comprehend, once again!

Still, maybe you could quote like in 'copy and paste'?
You know that or you hallucinate that you know that?keenart wrote:Which by the way, has nothing to do with programming. This trite idea is based on the routine protection against “Software Piracy” and “Copyright Violation.”

What a clever idea from Far East would it be! Crash program if it detects many accounts! Have they heard about possiblity to display dialog "This program does not support multiple accounts on one PC"? This should be also put just below program name and even before system requirements, so people can omit this miserable piece of *** PI is. And the same for state-of-*** Ulead support.

Where did you find that many accounts were accessing PI files at the same time?keenart wrote:DomGer
The comments are relative to the thread, your problem, and Steve's comments.
Combo.dll crashes because it finds several user accounts trying to use one instance of Ulead.
If it makes you happy this is my last post.

Hi,
From my information, if you are using a TBYB (try before you buy) version of PI, then it's possible to get this problem. If you apply the 11.0.0.1 patch then the problem should be solved. That's, you should be able to use multiple accounts in Windows XP (no matter Home or Pro) to run PI after applying the patch from http://www.ulead.com/tech/pi/pi.htm
Another information is that you can install 1 PI copy on 1 PC only, and you should be able to use it with multiple accounts. The EULA is per PC, not per account.
However, you should run only 1 PI instance at 1 time. That is, if you run PI with 1 account, and you wish to switch to another user account, then you must close PI before you switch the account.
Best regards,
H.T.

PI-11 won't Load Either
I have the same problem. My version on XP Home gets to U32aps32.dll before shutting down. I went to the Control panel and under User Accounts found the one I set up as the administrator and one that is grayed out titeled guest. I cannot delete this one. Would that prevent my PI-11 from working?

I think your case is different. Guest account will not cause the problem.
Have you applied the patch I mentioned in my last post?

Solution to PI 11 Crash at Program Start
This worked for me!!!
I was checking out the other threads and found this solution for Vista. I tried it on my XP Pro machine and it worked! No more crashed and I could still open up all the file types.
I was checking out the other threads and found this solution for Vista. I tried it on my XP Pro machine and it worked! No more crashed and I could still open up all the file types.
I installed PHotoImpact 11 under Microsoft Vista, which I have installed from my F: drive -
(I did this because Windows XP on C: - and I wanted to migrate a step at a time)
and like others (I learned from this forum) -
I found PhotoImpact would not finish initializing.
According the screen - it stopped while loading u32Ico.fio...
The solution (other than redoing the system to have a C: drive operating system) - is as follows:
MOVE
f:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact11\Fio\FIORC.dll
to
f:\Windows\System32\FIORC.dll
You *must* delete/rename the file from the Fio directory - if you leave a copy there - it still finds it in the Fio directory it fails to loads.
If you do not put a copy in the system32 directory - you'll find PhotoImpact loads but will not open photos any more.
I hope ULead will consider fixing whatever error is in there code - this has been mentioned on this forum for past versions.
A great piece of software - a minor bug once you know how to work around it -
I hope this helps others.[/b]

The patch did not work for me. I'm using XP Pro SP2 on a system with one user set up with Admin rights. "Administrator" user is disabled. PI 11 hangs only when launching from shortcuts/Open With dialog/etc. When I launch from the program folder directly, it works fine. So, how do I fix the problem so that the program will open without crashing????htchien wrote:Hi,

OK, I just found a work-around. I renamed my plugins folder, then PI12 opened as usual. PI12 automatically disconnected my preferences from that plugin directory location and the problem hasn't occured since, even after restoring the name to the plugins directory. Obviously one of my plugins does not agree with PI12.
