submenus won't change

Post by osha »

I have a project in mf5 that I want to change the menu on and when I
choose a new menu for the project , the new main menu comes up in preview but I can't get the submenus to change to the newly chosen
menu format-they just continue to come up as the old menu format even
though in LAYOUT SETTINGS in edit , I click to APPLY TO ALL PAGES OF
THIS MENU. How do I get the submenus to match the new main menu
layout? Any tips surely appreciated.......osha

You get a Main (Root) menu.
This contains thumbnails of any Video clips you have inserted in your project. Sometimes you may have more videos than there are thumbnails for that menu template and so extra pages are created.
I click to APPLY TO ALL PAGES OF THIS MENU.
In this case we are referring to the Main Menu.

Now if you create chapters for any of those videos, you also get a chapter menu for each video that has chapters. Again there may be more chapters than you have thumbnails for the chapter menu.
I click to APPLY TO ALL PAGES OF THIS MENU.
This time we are referring to the pages of THAT chapter menu.
Don't forget you may also have more than one such chapter menu.

Thanks for the reply-If I get you , I think I need to click the apply to all
menus not just to the main menu , but when I get to the chapter menus , I
have to set them up to match the main menu and then check the APPLY TO
ALL MENUS and then all the submenus referring to the main menu video
clip will match it and then I have to repeat that for every submenu for each
video clip in the main menu. I will fool with it some and see what comes up.
thanks for the pointer - I'm so new at this that every time I get something
right , it's cause for major celebration......osha
