VCD only choice to burn?

I am new to all of this, but these were my problems:

1. Movie was to large for dvd (resolved)

2. Movie stopped at 4 percent and encountered a problem and needed to close (cant resolve because:

Now when i start a new project the only available output format is VCD and it wont let me click DVD. Help please?

It may not be recognising your dvd burner, check you have all the updates for WS.
