Unable to repair or remove on installation

Post by johnvb »

Hi, all. Has anyone had problems installing their Video Studio 9? I got it with my ADS Tech DVDExpressDX2. The installer hung the system (WinXP w/ SP2) during initial setup, then will not repair or uninstall now. It said it repaired and finished, but the program gives me a "Serious TrialCodec Error" when I try to run it. And for some reason I cannot remove the program at all to try a complete reinstall. Any ideas? Thanks, John

Hi John,

I have the DX2. Excellent device. Did you load the software titles in the order specified by ADS? If not, uninstall everything, ADS and VS, and reinstall using the ADS recoomended procedure. Also, I offer this observation. The bundled version of Video Studio 9 is an SE version of Video Studio; ie not the full retail version. I purchased the DX2, but I didn't install the bundled VS9, I purchased VS10 instead. I capture using the DX2 and then import into VS10.
