Hi everyone, I've been trying to burn some video files to DVD for the past 2 weeks and I just can't seem to get it done. I finally got to the point where I have everything the way I want it and I hit burn.......after it's gets about 2 hours into the process it says
The MPEG stream is not compatible with this DVD engine
[533:-2147216487:0]
The files started out as AVI files and I converted them using SUPER. Now they are .vob (dvd compliant) files. I used the MPEG II video setting and AC3 audio believe (I'm not at home right now so I'm not sure on that one)
I searched this forum and noticed some people have trouble with the drag and drop program that runs in the system tray so I closed that first, but to no avail.
PLEASE HELP ME - I'm getting really really annoyed
Thanks in advance - Jason

How did your file end up being a vob file? Vob files are what MF creates from your mpeg2 file when you render to DVD. I'm not surprised you get this error message if you are trying to put a vob file on the timeline for a DVD project.
Need to know a lot more about your source files and process used to get this stage. Your saying: "These started out as AVI files" doen't mean a thing.
Is the same as me telling you I just drank a glass and expect you to tell me what was in it

Sorry, I'm kinda new to video stuff. The AVI files were encoded with DIVX I believe. I did also convert a .wmv file. As I stated before I used a program called SUPER to convert them from .avi to .vob
Was this a bad move? What should I convert them to. I can't load the .avi into the program it says that the file is not accessable. That's why I converted it in the first place.
I can't believe it's so hard to make a simple DVD. I just want to put my movie files onto a DVD so I can watch them on my DVD player....I'm getting very discouraged with the whole project.
Anyway if you need more info please let me know what you need and I'll try and figuire it out.
Thanks for the help

That's what I figured, DiVX. Ok, what you need to import into MF to make DVD is mpeg2 files. The properties of these mpeg2 files differ depending on where in the world you are, NTSC = 720 x 480 px, 29.97 fps, PAL = 720 x 576 px, 25 fps. For compatibility with most DVD players, keep the bit rate at or below 7500 kbps.

If you want to load DivX video into any DVD or video products, you need to install DivX codec pack first. Try http://www.divx.comSkydmark1 wrote:Sorry, I'm kinda new to video stuff.
