hey, guys,
thanks for your useful advices. I've just bought VideoStudio 8.0 from Ebay for only 18 dollars. the box comes with everything plus a DV basics book and cool3D SE 3.0. quite happy about it.

Looks like i just joined this Ulead family!!!!

Welcome Shredding..

Now I hope and pray that this is a good, registerable program. It is too easy to be taken on ebay when it comes to software. There are tons of pirated software being sold on ebay. I've bought and sold items, such as laptotps, cameras, etc.. on ebay. I never entertained buying software.

Secondly you bought a version that is near to being a Phased-out product by Ulead. I know VS7 is phased-out. So if it is a good copy, that you can register with Ulead, do so and then you qualify for the Upgrade Price to VS10+. Believe me it is well worth it. So in other words for $18 + $59 (VS10+ upgrade)=$79 total you can have the Full version of VS10+...

Again I do hope that the VS8 you bought is a good one

***EDIT***

Can you post the link to the auction that bought VS8? I just had a quick look and there are several that are selling the SE version, which is illegal to do so. VS8SE is a freebie version. It is not a full functioning version. It is bundled with hardware...

I think it's the legal software. It comes in the original box and registration card and references and the media library Cd and everything. the seller is 100% positive feedback. he said the box wasn't opened and he opened it to take the photos. normally doesn't the pirated versions has only 1 CD and not the box?

Also he said the registration will allow me to upgrate the product to Videostudio 9.0 or mediastudio pro 8.0.

I almost bought an SE version for 5 bucks. But this one is not, luckily. thanks for tell me that.

Ok, by the photo it looks like a legitimate copy. When I done a search on ebay, I was only finding the legit ones that had a "buy it now" price of $35. The ones selling for around $10 or so were the SE versions.

If you go to the auction page, then copy the link and paste it, I should be able to see it. It's just doing a browse or search will not bring it up..

The discs don't have the 8SE, so it is the full one. Good job!!!

This guy puts $13 as the minimum bid price. and i was the only bidder. quite lucky. add $5 shipping that's only 18.

I think it's a full version from one of Ulead resellers and it's now on-sale to clear the stock because now VS 10 is out (you can see the $17 mark on the box).

Good for you to get the box at that price.

If I were you I would immediately upgrade to v10. Version 8 was loaded with problems, most being out-of-sync issues. Version 9 addressed most issues, and v10 seems real good. Plus, v10 comes with some great features:
6 overlay tracks
5.1 Dolby Surround Sound
Greater DVD menu customization
Like Ron said, by paying the $59 upgrade price you are still ahead of the game.

Edited: sorry misread the post and though you meant MediaStudio 8.

VS8 Does not suppot chroma Key this was something introduced in Version 9
