I am coming over to VS10 from Apple iMovie and iDVD. I have successfully created my forst DVD, but I am somewhat unhappy with the way VS created the menus.
I used the 1st SmartScene menu. It created 3 text "buttons"... The first was a sub-menu that took me to a menu that was made of the chapters I put into the move. The 2nd was a slideshow video I had added... The third a slide show video.
I also had 4 more slideshow videos that were on the next 2 menus, accessible with the >>| button.
While this all works, it seems kind of mess to me. What I would like is a main menu to come up when the DVD is incerted into the player. On that menu, I would like 3 text "buttons":
Play Move <- Plays the movie starting at the beginning
Chapters <- Takes me to a sub-menu that displays all the chapers of the main movie.
Slideshows <- Takes me to a sub-menu that displays buttons of all the slideshow video clips I have added.
I don't see where I can create sub-menus from the Share>Create Disc wizard.
Am I missing something?

Hi
A big subject.
For each video file you Add in the Create Disc window you get one thumbnail in the Main Menu.
In your case you appear to have seven.
One video and six slide shows. I think! Not to worry.
If you select Thumbnail Menus from the gallery you can customise the main menu page to include all thumbnails to one page. It seems to a max of 8 using VS 10. Text 5 and Smart menus appear to limit to 3 ???????
There is a Navigation Control accessed via the ‘Cogwheel’ lower left of window.
Here you can select how the menu structure reacts. Select ‘Continue to play next clip’
Assuming you have no chapters:-
The disc will load to the first menu page.
Pressing any button will play to the end and return to the main menu page.
If chapters were applied to a each clip then a Sub Menu page will open showing the chapters. Again you can customise each sub menu to include more thumbnails/background image etc.
Afaik selecting any chapter will start play to the end of the disc.
If you create your slide shows as one file, your disc will contain two main menus.
Each containing chapters. Pressing any menu will access the chapter/ sub menu. Allowing you to start play from any chapter.
Now I’m confused
