MovieFactory 4 Video Capture issue

Post by Carmen Beckard »

Hiho, first time poster and first time user of the Ulead product, so please forgive me if this problem I have has a simple and brainless answer.

Nature of the problem: When ever I try to capture video from my source, the video screen that is displaying it automatically goes to a green screen.

Properties of your source files: DVD player connected through my Capture card device.

What devices are involved and their mode of connection? A USB Capture card.

Project Settings: Just the default settings in the Capture video section. When ever I try to change something here the video screen just goes green.

Output format: DVD

PAL

Error codes: None.

I CAN capture images with no hassels at all, but as soon as I click the capture Video button to start recording from my source device, the screen changes to green.

Any help or feedback will be greatly apreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.
Could you please identify your capture card. You mention it is USB but could you elaborate with the make and model. This will enable one of us to check its capabilities and possibly provide you with a cure.

Please also complete your system specifications on your profile page.

It is a Kworld DVD Maker USB2.0.

And I have updated my profile.

There are a few mixed reviews of the PCI version of this card here:
http://www.videohelp.com/capturecards.p ... rdRead=465

There is a review of the USB 2.0 version here:
http://www.pacstarcomputer.com.au/shop4 ... ts_id=1854

The first thing I would try in view of the reviews shown above would be to install the latest driver from Kworld
http://www.kworld.com.tw/en/index_down.htm

From that page select downloads and then editing series.

Ah yes, that was the first thing I did before even using the product. See, it captures video just fine using the PVR software provided, though I'm looking for some better quality through the Ulead moviemaker, and it is there where it won't capture. Just an evil green screen of mocking.

You're best option is to use the capture software that comes with the device and then import that into MovieFactory.

Please see this post where I show how to import captures from WinTV2000.

It doesn't matter which capture software you use, if the hardware is crap your capture is going to be crap, sorry. Even if DVDMF would be able to capture with your device, the quality is not likely going to be better.

I can understand that you don't like Steve's reply but, please, don't take it out on him

Sorry for misreading your post :? Must remember that not everyone is as sarcastic as I can be at times

I'll try not to have it happen again
