Transitions don't work right
Does anyone know why my transitions in UVS 10 are overlaying my clips? I have a 5 sec transition and the transition looks like garbage.

And I'd have to say that almost any transition that lasts 5 seconds risks looking silly -- especially when the 'normal' transition lasts one or at most two seconds.
And as Torsten says, that is precisely what transitions do: if you have a five second transition, then it will overlay 2.5 seconds of the end of one clip and 2.5 seconds at the beginning of the next clip...
I am wondering precisely what effect you are trying to achieve... Is it to have a dark space between clips which lasts around 5 seconds? Then if you want that, insert, say, a 5 second black colour matte with a one second cross fade transition at either end. That way you would get a quick fade out (the last half second) of one clip, five seconds of darkness, and then a quick fade in (a half second) of the next clip... Just a thought...
