Using an animation clip as a frame?

Post by ChrisInLA »

When I drag a frame into the overlay track I essentially "key" through the black portion of the frame to see the primary video. The Extras pack provides opening and closing animations, including one that is a curtain rising on a stage, with black behind it. Is there any way to key through this black so the curtain rises to reveal my primary video? Or does this only work on still frames?

Thanks...

I haven't actually tried it yet and I don't think you could modify the existing clips but I see no reason at all why you shouldn't be able to create a curtain rising with a transparent background in Ulead Cool 3D or Ulead Cool 3D Production Studio, they allow moving items with a transparency channel and create moving images which can be imported to and used in VideoStudio - sounds interesting I might have a try at that later.

in DVD Ws 1 there used to be a how to file in these webpages. have a look in the Cool 3d pro studio section and tiis described there.

I tried it and it didnt really work as the animated frame was in the pal safe area which was of no use!
