MF5 DVD skipping in player

Hi All,
I just bought MF5 and I'm importing discs recorded on a standalone player and authoring discs with simple menus. One problem I'm having is the burned discs from MF5 are skipping in my DVD player (the discs recorded from the stand-alone player play fine) The skipps start at the brginning of the disc, or when I advance through the chapters. There's a 2-3 fraome audio sync issue as well after the skipps occur. The skipps also occur in about the same places whena dvancing through the chapters, but play fine when playing the entire disc through (except at the very start of the disc) I've also tried the DVD in several different players with varying results.

The discs are recorded in SP mode:

TV System: 525/60 NTSC
Attributes: 24 bits 720x480 4:3
Frames: 29.970
Data Rate: Variable Bit Raten 9800KBPS Max

I also tried unchecking "Do not convert compliant MPEG files" but the project becomes to big to fit on a standard disc.

Any ideas?

1 Try different media

2 Author and burn as 2 separate steps

3 Shift the chapter points that have problems an I-frame backward or forward from their current position

And reduce your bitrate to around 8000 kbps max, some DVD players choke on bitrates as high as yours.

The discs are recorded in SP mode:
If you recorded in SP mode then the video_bit_rate is approx 4200kbs average.
Max_Bit_Rate of 9800 is normal for the dvd encoders.

Most likely cause of this is the DVD-R media for your recorder isn't compatible or having a problem with the burn.
Will the DVD play smoothly in the computer or also the same problem as in the stand-alone dvd players.

In the burning module of MF click on the down arrow to the upper right to display advanced properties.
In the Options or Advanced screen change the dvd burn selection to a MAX of 4X. Not Automatic.

Pauses:
Are you importing only ONE large mpeg2 file and assigning chapters or importing multiple videos onto the timeline.

What brand/model of dvd recorder are you using and what type of media?
dvd-r dvd+r dvd-rw/dvd+rw?
