Removing the "DMF..." names under the thumbnails?

Post by Scooterspal »

RE: Movie Factory 3.0 (w/updates)

Is there any way to remove the long DMF names under each of the thumbnail pictures without going to each one and deleting them individually?

You can turn off the thumbnail # but not the description. Is this the same in later versions?

Well, I bit the bullet and upgraded from 3.0 to 5. Glad I did. MF5 seems to be a much more refined program from 3.0 that solves all the issues I've had and been posting about since last week. Wish someone had recommend the upgrade to me back then. It's worth the 40 bucks for the headache factor alone.

My only complaint so far is the seemingly reduced set of backgrounds and templates from what I had in in the older version. MF3 had many more of each.

Since I still have 3 on my system I'll see about migrating them all over to the folder for MF5 so I can still use them.

Anybody done this as yet?

Yes, you can manually add most of the MF3 items to MF5. But a couple of them don't work and crashed the program (MF5 trial that I tried).

There is at least 1 post here that describes the files and what to look out for (same file names for different items!).

Ulead should provide at least the content of previous releases in newer versions, so their customers don't miss items they had been using in the past. I don't understand the current policy, because it annoys their loyal base.
And manually integrating items from a previous version (frames, buttons, backgrounds, templates) is tedious and error-prone, and may cause problems as well as instability. Especially when file names are reused with different content.
