hello everyone, is it possible to instal vfx plugins in the vidoe studio 10? I don't know why, but my ulead 10 has less transiction plugins than 9 and I really love those that 9 has! can i transfer them from one to another? How can i do this? I tried the copy/paste thing but it didn't work!
Any help would be apreciated!
Thank you

Oi, Sereia – seja bemvindo nesse foro! Suponho que, com este nome Sereia, você é Brasileira o Portuguesa…? Lembro bem a canção da Marina – ‘…topless na areia, virando sereia…’ Mas infelizmente, não tenho resposta para o seu problema com as transições que faltam…
Sorry, Vidoman -- but if you read the detail on this point in Steve's extremely helpful posting, when it comes to transitions, he recommends people do NOT try to import transitions from VS9 into 10.
And I for one am here to agree with him, that it simply does not work. There are also a number of other people out there in the same boat as me. You may recall from a separate thread, that I and this group of users for some reason have the full version of VS10+, but we are missing all the Album transitions, and most of the Flashback and Mask transitions, for some reason or other still unexplained.
The first thing I thought of doing was simply importing them from VS9. I even used the method that Steve was then recommending, with no luck. Other have also tried it, with similar results. Don't know why. The only thing I can think of is that InterVideo's takeover of Ulead last year may have resulted in some re-writing of the program, using code which blocks the transfer of previous versions' transitions. Transfer of menu templates, objects, frames, etc however, does appear to work.
The curious thing is that the Burger transitions go into VS10 without a hitch, as does the plug-in for the Canopus VideoFX transitions. Yet previous versions of Ulead's own transitions, do not!

Thank you so much for your replies!
I hope they somehow fix this problem cause if I use some transitions from the VS9 and then try to play it in VS10 it automtically changes them as it doesn't have those transictions plugins! I really love the album and VS9 masks and I feel bad cause I can't use them on 10
!
oh and yes, I am Portuguese... from portugal! Did you study portuguese?

missing transitions in VS10+
Hello Gentlemen,
Is it possible to import the part of your VS10+ project
that you want the missing transitions to be used in , into VS9, make a
file up with VS9s ie album transition, then import that into VS10+? If so
how Regards Ken V

Presumably you would simply insert the relevant clips into your your VS9 library, drag them into the timeline, add the transitions, and then produce a final single file of it (hopefully all in DV format to avoid undue degradation of quality). Then you'd insert that file back into your VS10 workflow.
I don't know if you can actually open a VS10 project in VS9, but going on past experience, you wouldn't be able to do that.
There are also a couple of, to me, significant drawbacks to your suggestion (apart from the annoying necessity to have such a work-around). First, one of my few problems with VS9 was that the Album transitions, which I really like the idea of, simply did not work as advertised. So I wouldn't be able to use them anyway. From what I understand, the reduced number of Album transitions available in VS10 actually do seem to work. I am not so much worried about the Mask and Flashback transitions, though presumably some people would be.
Secondly, it also presumes that you have VS9 to use. I suspect you will find people out there who, like me, don't have all the transitions in what is supposedly the full version of VS10+, but who are also total newbies to Video Studio and simply don't have an earlier version to fall back on. (This also means, as has already been pointed out in a separate thread, that they can't import earlier menus etc which are no available in VS10.)
