Installation Problem with DVD MovieFactory 5 (about directx)

Post by vinada »

Dear all,

I am having trouble installing DVD MovieFactory 5 on my computers. I have tried to run the installation on Windows 2003 Server Standard and Windows XP SP2, but both had the same error message popup in the very beginning of installation, says:
"Installation will stop now, because Microsoft DirectX 9.0 or above must be installed first before installing DVD MovieFactory. Please download Microsoft DirectX 9.0 or above from the Microsoft Web site, and then install DVD MovieFactory again."

I have checked the version of DirectX in my computers by DxDiag.exe. It shows that both are running DirectX 9.0c.

Anything I can do to solve this thing?

Or are you tring to install the program from a .iso via drive simulator or an unzipped folder?

If this is the case, your copy might be a pirate one and is damaged.

Can't install due to DirectX error

I, too, have the same problem.

Windows Enterprise Server 2003 with SP1 and DirectX 9.0c

Try to install and get the error you mentioned above.

I am trying to install the TBYB version.

Downloaded from ULEAD and Download.com. Same problems from both sites.

Also tried the Install Shield start as well as the setup.exe in the unzipped folder. Same problem.

Maybe they just don't want us to use their software???

TIA..

I attempted to install a full blown version of DVD Movie Factory 5 and got the same stupid DirectX error as I did with the TBYB version.

What is up with this???

Don't they want us to use their software???
