How to loop clips on the timeline automatically?

Post by marie »

Hello
First of all USV is simply a great product regardless of crashes etc...
what it can do is superb and to name a few outside the video creation that I
like is playback control (shuttle and time display direct manipulation), file
conversions, audio extractions, batch processing, mouse wheel clever
integration (10+), etc, etc...

Now to my problem...
How to loop clips on the timeline automatically?
How to build VSP projects automatically?

I have several USV (9or10) projects consisting of say 50 jpgs and
corresponding sound clips. I would like to find ways of

building the projects VSP with some more automated way

looping individual clips (01.jpg and corresponding 01.mp3) a certain
number of times eg. 3 times

Projects Structure

MASTER.VSP

LESSON01_01.VSP

C:\LESSON_01_01\*..JPG

C:\LESSON_01_01\*..MP3

LESSON01_02.VSP

C:\LESSON_01_02\*..JPG

C:\LESSON_01_02\*..MP3

.....

LESSON01_02.VSP

C:\LESSON_01_10\*..JPG

C:\LESSON_01_10\*..MP3

LESSON02_01.VSP

C:\LESSON_02_01\*..JPG

C:\LESSON_02_01\*..MP3

Of course the tedious (dummy) way is to paste several copys (I've got many
clips)

Is there an Effect that can be dropped and parameterized to cause a clip to
repeat a number of times?

Is there an API for USV?

Can VSP projects build imported from a text file? (Anyone from Ulead
listening? :) This will really solve my issue as I can do may repeat and
playback speeds with greater control.

Many time coming back to USV projects every after a couple of weeks I forget
what the structure I used. So usually I like to document them as
above. It sure would be nice to have something like that exported (instead
of hacking my way into VSPs, reversing engineering is no fun)

Any pointers help is much much appreciated.

Hi Marie, and welcome to the forums..:)

As far as I know this ( looping and building projects automatically) is not possible in Video Studio. Video Studio also can not build projects from a text file.

Thanks Ron for confirming my fear :)

Is this the right forum to ask if Ulead or anybody else here can provide the binary specs for VSP files. I can do a bit of programming if I new the structure. The VSP files tend to be very small (another of my appreciation of UVS/Ulead approach of spec'ing project files) so I don't think there is too much to it and it would make a great tool (ie. exporting/importing in and out of text files).

Thank you.
Marie.

Hi Marie,

Yes this the only forum for Ulead support. However about everyone here are just like you, Users, and not employed by Ulead.

You should be aware that it is in violation of the EULA to Reverse Engineer, Decompile any of Ulead's programs.
