sound from clip

i have no problems so far with vs8 except that, when i capture a clip from my camcorder that was recorded earlier to vs8 on my computer, the sound in the room i am recording to the computer in is recorded aswel as the original sound from the clip except the noise of the room is much louder and the sound from the clip is barely audible. It is quite frustrating and i really havent a clue how to fix it. Please help.

Do you have a mic hooked up on your computer? If so unplug it.

how are you connecting your camcorder to the PC
