time-stamp display from DV, VS 9.

Post by dai »

Hi,
Anybody can gimme a idea how to learn what is creation date on captured scenes from DV, I'm using VStudio 9. Can I display date/time during recorded DVD/VCD playback. I've set my camcorder date/time ON.

Thanks
Dai

Yes - two ways - one go "File >> Preferences" in the new dialogue window under the 'General' Tab - right at the very bottom - click to tick "Display DV timecode on preview Window' - click OK.

Second way - hover your mouse cursor over the thumbnail in the library - after a couple of seconds a box will apear containing info - on a DV video the bottom line will be the recording date.

Neither of these will burn to DVD/VCD - to do that you need to make a note of the information regarding date and then create a small title which you can place anywhere on screen - that will burn to DVD.

There is also a free utility called DVDate that can superimpose a timestamp on top of DV video. It has other useful features as well.

Thanks, Brian

DID this:
"File >> Preferences" in the new dialogue window under the 'General' Tab - right at the very bottom - click to tick "Display DV timecode on preview Window' - click OK."
... but still don't see any time code during preview of capture, or then during just playing captured file. Where exactly on preveiew screen date should appaer ?

Keeping mouse on the lib file tells me date of first track I think, but my tape has scenes spanned for 2 month.

Does <DV Scan> will help me to break all tape into pieces with the different time ?

Best

Hi Dai,

The Time Stamp will only be present while previewing in Clip Mode. If you preview your clip in Project Mode, you will not see it.
