I am experiencing consistent system crashes with version 8.
I am a long time user of MediaStudio Pro from versions 6.5, 7 and now 8 and know the ropes very well.
My system specs are:
A Dell 8200, clock rate 2 megahertz
Physical Memory 768 MB
Graphics card GeForce FX 5600 Ultra 128 of RAM
C drive 93 GB
D drive 96 GB
E drive 94 GB
All drives are NTFS
Operating System Windows XP home
Problem Details:
My error message is “Video Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close... a windows error message”
Version 8 has never been real stable. It runs ok on short projects 10 minutes or less, large projects causes system crashes.
Note: Version 7 runs rock solid with not problems.
As a test I loaded version 8 on my laptop, 1GB of memory running at 2 megs and the same identical problems occur. I have tried all the basic stuff, defraging, turn off all backround programs not needed, spyware sweeps, checked for viruses etc. but the problem persists.
This is my question. Do you think my computing power is marginal? I do not want to upgrade to a new system and have the same problem occur. Your insight is greatly appreciated.
