VS9 Crash without logs!

Post by arnouf »

Hello,

I've made a movie with VS9. To generate the DVD I use the command Share/Create DVD. It's done, my DVD works well.
With the same movie, I change a sequence and add a transition. With the same command when I want to generate film after the first step VS9 is closed : no error message, no logs in events viewer - Windows XP Pro.

What's the problem? How can I know the problem to try to correct it?

Regards

Are you changing, Editing the MPEG2?
If so the MPEG2 may be corrupt, which could cause VS to crash. Do you still have the Project File, *.vsp from this? If so try rendering another video file (Share>Create Video), then try using it to see if it clears it up.

Not knowing your workflow, capture properties, and project properties, it is difficult to assess this problem. A program shutting down could be due to numerous issues, such as failing RAM, Harddisk, or even a weak power supply unit. Video editing is very demanding on a computer, so weaknesses will suddenly appear while trying to edit, where they may not present themselves doing other tasks.

Hello,

My video is creating from a capture (DV format).
I separate the audio and video. I add mp3 file.
Now, I know that the mpg file is created in the tempory folder.
I've found a solution to generate the video...I use the Create DVD menu (when you launch VS9) and I insert the tempory mpeg file. When I make this I can generate the video.

I suppose that the vsp file of my project is corrupted !

Arnouf,

I had a similar problem with VS9 and tracked it down to the following. Try converting the MP3 file to a WAV file first, then import it into your library.
Use the WAV file instead of the MP3 file for your movie.

This worked for me. Hope this post has been some help
