Videostudio burning DVD - error 5003

Post by jonirish »

I am trying to burn a dvd in videostudio. I captured vido from a panasonic camcorder and put it all together and go to create dvd.

It takes about 2 hours to work through converting files and just before it is about to burn it gives me an error stating that "source file had some errors (5003)". Then I hit "ok" and it pops up another window stating that it "Can not open file"

if it told me what it was trying to open perhaps I could eliminate it but it gives no indication.

Any ideas??

thanks in advance for your time..

Hi Jonirish, and welcome to the forums..:)

Well to get a better idea we need more information please...
  1. Please complete your system information in your profile.
  2. Read This First Sticky for the type of information needed to troubleshoot problems.
  3. Did you follow the Recommended Procedures?
It seems that you captured, edited, then went to Share>Create Disc. It is recommended to Create a video file before burning a disc.

Other possiblities would be other packet writing applications such as Nero, Roxio and Ulead Data Add. They tend to highjack the burner, and need to be disabled or uninstalled so as not to interfere.

With Nero, it is the InCD module which needs to be uninstalled -- not the whole Nero suite. And there is a similar Roxio program whose name I forget, but which can be internally disabled without actually uninstalling it.
