Importing an Image

Post by puddinbabe »

I'm importing an image from photoshop into Workshop, but when I get it into Workshop the aspect ratio is not the same. What sized image does DVD workshop need to import?

I'm editing NTSC if it matters.

found the answer, but it doesn't seem to be right

768 by 576 pixels is the answer

but when i tried this, the image was still stretched widthwise. i tried importing the file as a psd and a bmp. any ideas how to fix this?

NTSC has 480 vertical pixels, not 576, which is for PAL

No matter what size I make the picture, Workshop still stretches it horizontally. If it looks normal in Photoshop, it stretches in Workshop. Is there no fix for this?

Seems that you are creating 16:9 output. PS allways uses 4:3. So you have eighter to output also to 4:3 or you have to transfor your image with PS before you save it. (In the change image size dialog uncheck the checkbox "keep aspect ratio". Now you can change X and Y proportions independent of each other.) Your image must look bad in PS if it should look good on DVD :)
I ususally prefer to put slideshows as 4:3 on DVD, since this way I am not forced to crop my images.
