You havent told us what your TV card is.
The procedure in 5 is the same as in 4.

I am using Nova-T/Win20000 pci I am not asking as yet how to capture nor are any of the updates you advise available for Nova-t so to get back to My question how do you sort the channels out and why is there no reference to this anywhere in the manual. I just expect aproduct to be able to perform the basic procedure of setting up and changing channels.

I don't think MovieFactory was meant to be a means to view TV on a PC. Maybe that has got something to do with it

In the capture module click on the "Down Arrow" to show the advanced settings.

Under Advanced setting or Options screen there should be a screen where you can display the TV channels along with the frequencies.
I have that screen on MF5 in the capturing module.
I haven't tried to re-assign the channel numbers but I thought it was possilble to add/delete/modify them.

Are you referring to TV manager which shows all the channels etc., but tou cant change there position I mean having to go to 106 to get bbc1 is pathetic

I always do my TV capture with the software used for viewing the TV Card as a TV - WinTV2000. It has more flexibility over the capture - the ability to set the capture settings - adjustments to brightness/contast etc.

Then use the resultant file with Uled to create the DVD.

thanks Steve I did think that was an alternative wasn't sure if that would work so could you then just drag to quickdrop if you are not going to edit

If you don't want to edit you still need to author as a DVD if you want to play it in a standalone DVD player. (i.e. making a DVD Menu) Simply follow the steps in the tutorial I mentioned.

If you only view these things on your computer you can just leave them in the MPEG format that WinTV2000 captures them to. Obviously there wouldn't be chapters etc. If you dont author to a DVD.

The only options I can see for you trying to capture under MF5 is

Advanced Settings -> Video Properties -> Input Source(tab)
TV System -> Drop-Down Box to select the TV system:
TV Antenna or Cable

NTSC_M
NTSC_M_J
PAL_B through PAL_N
Secam_B through Secam_L1

Maybe you have to change the TV system for wherever you are at.
Of course under the TV Manager you have the correct Country/Region Selected.

Ok Steve I have done one purely by dragging the file from win/tv to Quick drop much the same as Roxios drag to disc. initial result looks promising have also done it by converting and burnig with dmf. as I'm not into chapters or god forbid watching on my pc I think that'll do for now thanks for your help
Maddrummer I have no problem capturing a tv channel in dmf its just a useless bit of kit for finding the channel you want to capture
