I have been trying to send my school video project to my VCR. I can get the sound to be recorded onto the tape, however the video does not. I have the NVida GeForce 4 video card, it has Video In Video Out capabilities, both composite and S-Video. I had no problem getting the Video off the Camcorder, however I am unable to get both the video and audio to record, I can only get the audio to record. How can I fix this?

Does your VIVO card use the same video connector for both capturing and outputting video? The NVIDIA-based VIVO cards I have used have all had a breakout box with separate (but identically looking) connectors for each function. If that's the case with your card, make sure you move the cable to the appropriate connector.

With my Nvidea VIVO card I have a software 'switch' under "Start >> All programmes" which is labelled "TV - ON/OFF which switches Video out on but turns the PC monitor off. perhaps you have something similar ??
I find the best way to make a VHS tape though is to export the video as DV from my PC to camcorder via firewire and then connect the composite output from the camcorder to the VCR

As mentioned, I also like to use the dv-to-analog pass thru of my camcorder.
However, recently I've been creating a DVD and recording from a dvd player to the VCR. It works best when I have to put a 10-minute video (for a mall kiosk) onto VHS so it will play over and over. I just setup my dvd to replay the video, and hit the record on the VCR. DVD Burners and media have come way down in price lately...
