Greetings,
I am looking for a way to proxy the clips for a given project (not just the files in the timeline) so I can efficiently work on my projects on my laptop when my external drive is not connected. The idea being to render from the original AVI clips only when I have most all my editing done.
I did some experiments with smart proxy's; I made a few proxies, then disconnected my external drive and re-started. While I was able to load my project, and the video did play, I did not get any audio.
Is this behaving as expected or perhaps I have some MSP8 setting that causes the audio from smart proxy to not play? I opened the proxy files with another tool and the audio/video both work fine.
Further, is there a better way to accomplish what I am trying to do?
Thanks for your time,
Steve
