Something is locked?

Post by spurrymoses »

Hi,

A nooby question from me. I've been editing a certain project for a while. Suddenly, this evening, when I go to select a clip on the timeline, a picture of a padlock shows to the right of my mouse icon.

The clip is *not* locked, either by right-clicking 'lock' or choosing the picture of a padlock on the far left.

What is this icon trying to tell me? And, how can I get rid of it?

It's possible I flicked some unknown key sequence but I don't know what it is or how to turn it off...

Can anyone help?

Can you post a screenshot?

Just hover the cursor over the offending clip, then press {PrtSc}. Go to your favourite image editing software and press Ctrl-V, then save it as a JPEG.

Try going into Control Panel|Mouse, selecting an unusual system under the Pointers tab, Apply, the go back, select Windows Default and Apply.

I just realised, it was because the 'Audio' clip that was associated with that clip was 'locked' (by selecting the padlock icon on the left of the timeline.

I must have accidentally flicked it.
