I've read various posts on codecs/vs10/wmp but don't seem to be having much luck.
Problem is I saved an mpeg2 file onto CD and when I try to open it at work wmp says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file may be formatted with an unsupported codec, or the Internet security setting on your computer is set too low". I changed the internet security setting and that didn't help as the codec still wouldn't download.
As suggested in on thread I have used the http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... nload.aspx installation package and that didn't help either.
I take videos of various dog agility and obedience trials to give to the participants so I want a product that will actually run on their computers - when I did the mpeg2 in VS9 it worked but it won't from VS10.
Any helpful ideas please?

It boils down to this: WMP doesn't come with a MPEG2 codec, and the codec package that you downloaded doesn't include one, either.
