I have Video Studio 9 running on a WinXP Pro pc. I have an ADS Tech Instant DVD USB2 capture device. I haven't had to use the ADS Tech box in awhile as I've been capturing directly from my camcorder. However today I went to start transferring some VHS tapes and the capture device was not seen by the video software. It was working fine in version 7 as I used it for capturing both VHS tapes and would plug my Hi-8 camcorder into it for capturing. I'm not sure exactly how to have the device recognized again by the software. Any help would be appreciated.

Capture device not seen in Video Studio 9

Hi George,
The ADS Tech unit shipped with special drivers that allowed the bundled VideoStudio to recognize and capture from the device. When Ulead updates their software, it's no gaurantee that they will include the special drivers from hardware manufacturers for their devices. Sometimes the hardware manufacturer will create a new driver.
Your best bet would be to visit ADS Tech's support pages, and make sure your drivers and CapWiz software are up-to-date. If Videostudio still does not recognize the device, then use ADS Tech's own capture program called CapWiz. You can always use the captured mpeg files in your Videostudio 9 projects...

George
