Help with Sound

Hi y'all maybe somebody can help me...i am using video studio 8 and trying to capture some video the only the sound will not capture. it has worked before but i have forgotten what settings sould be put in place. the picture quality is great and the caputre quality is great there is just no sound. any suggestions would be wonderful!

Hi and welcome to the forums :)

Can you describe how you are capturing? Exactly what devices are you using (make and model numbers)? What is the source, how are components connected to your computer, things like that...

And if you update your system specs, that will help us to determine a workflow that could work for you...

I am attemptiong to capture video from home vhs tapes. I have a vhs player connected tom my computer. The capture of the video is fine but there isn't any sound. I don't know what happend because it worked before and now it doesn't. So I don't have a clue what i did...

Is there an audio cable running from your VCR to your computer's sound card?

What are your computer specs? What type of graphics card do you have -- it must have some sort of video-in connection?

To add a little to George's reply, if you are using S-video connections, that will only ever capture video. It has to be supplemented by an audio connection (e.g. the red/white or black and white audio RCA cables that are normally on the same cord as a yellow video RCA cable).
