Error while capturing thru importing DVD
I have VS10 and using VS for some years. Now I want to capture a DVD I made nyself thru importing DVD.
When I start importing, 12% run time I got an error msg: Unspecified error Report ID 0x8004138d(5005). I have 100GB free space and 1min 35 sec have been captured?
Anu suggestions?

I am guessing, but since you managed to press 'Import' after the Import DVD Folder had finished parsing the DVD, that you actually put a cross in one of the little boxes. But can you confirm this?
Interestingly, I just tried this with two different home-made DVDs (both made yesterday, but on different computers). The one made on my main computer works perfectly -- I opened the capture page, selected Import DVD, then on the new dialogue box, selected Import DVD Folder. The program 'parsed' the disc, and a further box appeared with the DVD's structure in it. I clicked in the little box to the left of Title0, the program thought about it for a couple of seconds, then the preview box lit up. I clicked Import and the process began and completed. With the other disc, I got an error message during the parsing process, and it would not proceed beyond that point. Yet that disc happily plays in my stand-alone player and main computer (as well as the one that made it). Go figure...

Hi Hans, it certainly looks like the DVD may have some damage either physically or with regards the data written on it.
If it is the only copy you have and you would still like to try to retrieve the contents do a Google for "Isobuster."
It is a free program that can write an iso file to your hard drive of the DVD in question then you can write another DVD from that iso. It will attempt a few methods of compensating for the damaged sectors and is wirth a try.
The end result being a DVD that you can now import from.
