Hello there
I've done one project which I sucessfully burned to DVD (it was footage from my last kickboxing show). Now I would like to make a 2nd DVD but want to capture some of the footage (as a preview) from the 1st one. I don't have the original tapes so cannot capture from the camcorder this time.
Is it possible? Do I need extra software/hardware?
Would GREATLY appreciate any help on this one as it quite urgent.
Thanks
Greevo
How do I capture video file direct from DVD drive on my PC

It would help if you told us which version you are using.
First put the DVD in your DVD tray of your PC then follow the appropriate instructions below.
In Ulead VideoStudio7...
1. Click FILE > CHANGE CAPTURE PLUG-IN;
2. Click the CURRENT CAPTURE PLUG-IN drop-down arrow;
3. Select Ulead DVD-VR Plug-In;
4. Click the CAPTURE step button;
5. Click the OPTIONS icon and then VIDEO PROPERTIES;
6. Browse to the location of the drive containing the DVD disc and find the VIDEO_TS folder;
7. Highlight the folder and click OK;
8. Click the CAPTURE icon;
9. A pop-up should appear with a thumbnail representing the RAW MPEG video/audio contained within the VIDEO_TS folder;
10. Highlight the thumbnail and click FINISH;
11. Ulead VideoStudio will copy the data to the folder you have designated as a working folder and will load the clips into the timeline as well.
In Ulead VideoStudio8...
1.Clik on the small round folder icon you find down in the bottom left corner of the VideoStudio 'Edit' screen.
2. Choose "Import DVD/DVD-VR..."
3. Browse to the Video_TS or the DVD_RTAV folder on the disc and hit the OK button.
4. VideoStudio will now load the movie into the Timeline.
A response in only 11 minutes hope thats quick enough for you but the use of the Forum search facility would have found you this thread

Thank you VERY much my friend. This little mystery has had me banging my head against a wall since before xmas. Sorry, forgot to say I'm using VS8 but as I am not exactly cumputer literate so I forgot to mention that.
After some messing around I've got it working and I can't thank you enough.
Cheers again
