I have been running studio 9 for some time, this had a problem just closing down on its own for no aparent reason.
I have just purchased Studio 10 only to find this does just the same, for no reason the programe just goes off no warning just closes down on its own. Is this normal for the programe or is their a updte available to overcome this problem.

Hi Roger, and welcome to the forums,

First please complete your system information in your profile. :)

Now since the same thing is occurring with 2 different programs, it looks like a system problem.
  1. Are you running any other programs, applications while editing? Any applications running in the background?
  2. Please describe what you are doing when the crash occurs. Does this happen while performing the same task each time, or is it random and sporadic?
  3. Have you ran virus, and spyware checks recently? Is your system defragmented?
  4. What other video-editing, DVD-authoring programs do you have installed?
  5. Have you experienced similar occurances while using any other software?
This type of behavior is indicative of a HDD failing to write to certain areas, and of RAM (memory) starting to fail. You may want to locate and run a RAM test on your system, as well as running a error check on your HDD(s).

I think i may have the answer myself, I have Two hard drives and i forgot to install the Studio programe onto the second hard drive, I have reinstalled Studio 10 onto my second D drive. So all my captures are onto C drive then the programe is installed onto D drive, fingers crossed since i have done this i have not lost the programe again.
