VS10 Trial Version Crashing

Post by thm »

I was able to download the trial but when I run it on my main desktop and choose "trial" it crashes saying it needs to close. I tried it on my laptop and it worked there but I really need to run it on my main desktop as I want to do HD editing and I need the horsepower.

If I can't get the trial to work I guess I won't spend the money on buying VS 10.

I have a Dell 3 GHz HT CPU with 2 Gig of ram and an ATI X850 graphics card. All my drivers are up to date.

Thanks in advance for any help/ideas.

We know you have a good download because it works on your laptop.
You may have had a faulty installation. Try our suggestions for uninstalling
http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 5773#55773

Then install again.
Just to satisy my curiosity you do have your operating system on drive C and you are installing the program to drive C?

There have been problems with users trying to install to another hard drive or partition.

check the windows Event Log:-
START | RUN dialog box
%SystemRoot%\system32\eventvwr.msc /s
and press enter.
Now check the following two folders

You will find a red circle with a white cross inside. Double click to open it and there you will find a link
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
This link also contains some hidden code apertaining to your error.

FWIW....

I also got the "corrupt file" message when trying to install the 10+ demo download.

One of my friends (very computer savvy, way over my head) had reccomended Ulead products when I asked him about video editing software. I just purchased a Sony DCR-DVD505 video camera and wanted something a little more powerful than windows movie maker. I had tried the Ulead MovieFactory 4 suite that came with my new Pioneer DVD burner and also downloaded the demo of MovieFactory 5 from Ulead. I liked them but they didn't support 5.1 surround sound, or HD. (which is coming) So, based on my friends reccomendation and my experience with MovieFactory 4 and 5, I opted to purchase the download version of VideoStudeo 10+. (because I'm to cheap to pay the $23+ shipping for the box version to Hawaii)

Well, it works wonderfully. It's probably got more "stuff" in it than I'll every use, but who knows, I might suprise myself. So far, I've only made one video with it. A small 30 minute DVD of my daughter and her team mates at the 2006 levels 9 & 10 Hawaii State gymnastics championships. Nothing fancy but not bad for my first effort I think.

I gambled and it paid off. Oh yes, I have a Dell 8200 with a P4 2.5 Ghz CPU, 512MB of ram, and 3 HD's, (an 80GB and 120GB int, and a 120GB ext) and a NVIDEA Gforce 6800GT video card with 256MB of ram.

I got it to work.

I had to uninstall and reinstall Quicktime and then the VS10 trial worked.

Thanks for your help.
