Menu Templates
Hi All,
I want to copy a one the classic menu templates from VS8 to Movie Factory 3
Is there a way to do this? I can't find any instructions in the user guides.
While I'm asking questions: How do I can I get some templates in the MF3 'favorite' movie template drop down box? Or 'download' ?
I'm confused.
Thanks for your help.

I think they both use UFO's as the templates. Do a search on your HD for *.ufo which will bring up any file that is a UFO. Note there locations, probably your going to only find them in two folders, one for VS8 and one for MF. You should just be able to copy them to the corresponding folders.
Try just one and see what happens... BTW you can create custom templates in the UFO format with Photimpact
Here's a link fro how to do it with MF. http://www.asiapac.ulead.com/dmf/free.htm

Go to start>my computer>local disk C:\program files\ulead systems\ulead video studio\template\
Right click the classic folder and select copy. Anywhere below it where there is free space right click and select paste. You should now have a folder called copy of classic. Right click it select rename and rename it temp. Right click again and select cut.
Go to start>my computer>local disk C:\program files\ulead systems\movie factory(or similar)\template\
Right click on some free space and select paste. You should now have the temp folder here. Open up Movie Factory and see if it recognizes the temp folder and has added the temp category. There's agood chance it won't.
If it doesn't you need to move the files from inside the temp folder to one of the others in the template directory (e.g.sports etc whatever is there). If there is a classic folder present you can put them there but you need to make sure that they do not have the same names before moving them there. If they are named the same you can just rename the one in the temp folder then move them to the calssic folder or what ever one you choose.

No I don't. But the easiest way to find out is try and open up one of the templates. If you can make a few changes then save it the same folder with a different filename. My guess is that it will.
See if it works. If it does let me know, there's older versions PI readily available cheaper for someone who only wants to create templates.

Dear Coal Man.
You're 'The Man', I did what you suggested and it worked!
Thank you so much for the detailed instructions - They were perfect!!
I did have to put my classic template in Kids & Children of MF3, but that's okay.
Do you know how to use the "download" feature in MF3 menu templates, or the Favorites?
Thank again for your help.

No but if you search the Ulead site you can find other templates. Also if you look around the net I'm sure you can find other user created ones. Just put them in folders.
It's unfortunate this forum doesn't have the file upload feature, it would be a great asset. Users could just upload there files such as templates.
