Question about product update

Post by wolffman »

Hi,
I have DVD MovieFactory 3.5 on my old computer. I have the SN# and I am a registered user. Ulead sent me an email inviting me to try the new VidoeStudio 10. I downloaded the trial version and like it very much. My trial period is almost over and I would like to upgrade. But I'm confused about the terms. I would like to install the new version on my new computer, (which I'm running the trial version on) which does not have the old version installed. I really don't want to install the old version on my new computer if I don't have to. I use both computers, but the new one is more powerful. So I went to my old computer and got the SN# is that all I need? Please let me know to proceed. Thanks
Nancy

Hi Wolffman,

Yes that should be all you need, however if not, do you have the Install Disc for your DVDMF3? If so just pop it into your CD tray and VS10+ should see it, and you should be able to install...

I found the CD, but the program was bundle with the Pioneer DVD writer I purchased. The CD lists DVD MovieFactor 3.5 SE, VideoStudio 8 SE. Will this qualify. And will inserting the bundle CD work the same?

On the download version of Video Studio 10+ upgrade you don't use the CD to verify that you qualify for the upgrade. When you purchase the upgrade you will be asked for your qualifying products serial number. After your serial number is verifyed you can purchase the software. When you purchase the software you will be e-mailed a serial number for VS10.

When you install VS10 you will be asked for the serial number that was e-mailed to you and then you will be asked for the serial number of the previous software. If your serial number is valid the software will install.
Thats all there is to it.
