Ok, I bought Ulead Media Studio Pro over Video Studio because it's a bit more intermediate than Video Studio.
Once I complete making my edits with Media Studio Pro, which software do I need next? Movie Factory or Workshop?
I obviously want something more intermediate but not complicated. Everything has a learning curve but if I wanted to be truly complicated I could use Final Cut Pro. lol.
What exactly are the differences between workshop and movie factory? I want to create a DVD with menus after I'm done with editing.
Movie Factory 5 and Workshop 2...ummm Diferences?

My issue is I would like to have something that leans towards more functionality rather than fully user friendly. In other words, I don't want to be hindered to something when I want to be able to do more with something. What that something is...is the question. Wow that almost didn't make any sense.
Like with MSP 8, it allows me to have the capability to do a lot. But not fully limit me like video studio. (hope I'm correct in saying this).
I guess it's safe to say that DVD WS 2 is a good buy to have pretty much functionalities that I may use in the future once I know the software more.

Ok then it sounds to me, that you would want WS2. The only hinderance is the lack of Dolby 5.1, and I think HD. It has been around for a few years. I don't know, but I suspect that Ulead is taking the Consumer Road for their applications. Therefore they have put DVDWS on a back burner.
DVDMF5 being the latest is somewhat closer to WS2, but you still don't have the total flexibilty.
Then another option is another DVD authoring software package. Unknown what that would be though.
I don't know at this point if I will upgrade to MF5, I have MF4DC, and it does what I need, along with MSP8, VS9 (and hopefully VS10+ if it ever arrives).

See this is my confusion. I mean Ulead showing that they have workshop and have moviefactory. However, workshop has more functionality but now it's in the backburner where moviefactory is supported fully but will have it's restrictions that workshop will have the capability to do.
I'm not trying to get the best bang for my buck, well maybe I am but my luck is getting something, learning a lot of about it, then when I want to do more...I run into the "I should have gotten that instead".
What to do? D@mned if you do, D@mned if you don't.
