Program freezes in Trial MovieFactory 5.0...
Installed MovieFactory 5.0 Trial Version...when I click on Browse and find my AVI file to burn to DVD the program freezes...when I do a ctl-alt-del in Task Manager it says "Program not Responding"....can the trial version convert AVI movie files to DVD? any ideas...thanks
There's something wrong with your AVI file. It is probably somehow corrupted. Where did it come from? Sometimes a corrupt file will play-back OK, but cause problems if you try to edit or convert it.
There are all kinds of AVI files. AVI is a "container" format, and it can contain DV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, etc.). The DivX and Xvid formats seem to cause some trouble. MPEGs can give you trouble if you try to edit them. You should not have any trouble if you feed Movie Factory a good AVI/DV file from a digital camcorder.
This in NOT a trial limitation. If the trial version doesn't work with your particular video files, I wouldn't buy the retail version!....can the trial version convert AVI movie files to DVD?
