Hi,
With the Video studio 10plus, does anyone know how to change the duration of the video filters?
For example, if one wishes to apply a "lightning effect", not on the entire video but only for a few seconds-once or at a few random locations, how to do it?
Step by step guide please!!
I tried to customize it, but was not sucessful, and I am pretty sure I didn't do it properly.
Thanks

move the cursor to the frame you wish the effect to start.
Using the scissors, cut your clip there into A and B sections
Select section B and move the cursor to the frame where you want the effect to change or stop.
Using the scissors tool cut the clip into into sections B and C.
Select section B. Apply filter.
Say "duh". Rinse and repeat.

Hi
Using Video Filters are easy to apply but may need some expertise to customise. This comes with practice.
Even more difficult to explain.
First of all each filter is different, that is some can be customised more than others.
You can add up to 5 filters to each clip. (select or de-select the tick box replace last filter)
Most have several default options/template, click the down arrow next to the ‘Customize Filter’ button for a selection.
Changing the attributes to the filter change the effect.
Some allow you to add a pointer,(+) the little triangles on the filter timeline. Then the attributes can be changed between pointers.
If you try the Kaleidoscope filter you should notice the settings ‘Angle and Radius' change as you play the filter. You can add (+) extra pointers and change the attributes between each, Your filter effect will change as the clip plays.
Not all filters allow you to change the effect midstream.
Just drag the curser to quickly see the effect.
As I say there is a lot involved using filters, play about give it a go.
