DVD MF 5 doesn't link to my submenu after burn.
I've captured a basketball game, 6.8Mbps or so, 160 audio, 4G, and during the authoring process it works fine, but doesn't work after the burn. Is this a bug that anyone else has experienced?

One more try. Anyone here having this problem? If you feel you need more info to answer the question, please let me know what you need. I read the sticky but fail to see what my computer speed and RAM and 3 hard drives and my ATI capture card have to do with what Ulead's software is doing with the Mpeg2 file that I captured from a VHS tape.

No I have not experienced this. I also gather since there has been no other response, based on the information no one else has any idea why this would have happened.
Some pertinant information to troubleshoot this does include those things that you fail to see why they would. For example if you had a PII with 4gig HDD, and video card that only supported 256 colors, then that system will not work with about any NLE. In your first post you neglected to provide this so all we can do is guess. Then you post that you read the sticky and don't think the information is needed. That says alot...
Here's an example by your method:
I drove my car to town, while I was on the highway it worked. But when I exited the highway it didn't work. Can you tell me why?
Nothing personal is intended, just trying to show you from our point of view, how can we possibly answer this?
So with that....
Please provide some detail,
1. How did you capture your video?
2. What device was involved in the capture?
3. What format (capture properties) did you capture to?
4. What did you do with the captured video? (Edits done to the video clip)
5. What is the next step you performed? (Render to another format, if so what format?)
6. Did you burn a disc, DVD-Folders, ISO image? If so did you try to play it on your computer using Windows Media, Ulead DVD Player, or some other?
7. What brand of media are you using?
8. Did you try to play the DVD on any other DVD player? If so results...
9. Did you try any other brand media?
10. When you are capturing, editing, and burning, do you have any other applications, utilities, or programs running?
11. Do you have any other DVD authoring programs installed? If so please list them.. (Some DVD authoring apps, such as Nero, and InCD, as well as Ulead's Data-Add take control of the burner and need to be disabled or even uninstalled. They will cause conflicts with Ulead burning a video disc.
12. Have you been able to burn discs previously, and this just started happening? If so what has changed on your system?
Those are a few questions that may help us help you...
Thank you..

Re: DVD MF 5 doesn't link to my submenu after burn.
Fair enough. I built my PC's, so that is why I fail to see why it matters. It works in Ulead DVD MF 3 but not in 5. The reason I tried 5 is because my video contains Dolby Digital Audio.vidoman wrote:Hi Etecnifibre, etecnifibre wrote:I've captured a basketball game, 6.8Mbps or so, 160 audio, 4G, and during the authoring process it works fine, but doesn't work after the burn. I captured my video with a Panasonic AG-1980 VCR into my ATI 9600 XT All in Wonder to my Capture Drive, an 80 G 7200 Maxtor. I operate the program from a Western Digital 10,000 RPM Raptor. I have a 3 Ghz p4 and a Gig (2x512) Crucial RAM.
My video is Mpeg2, 8Mbps max with a target of around 6.8mbps. I capture audio at 160kbps.
I use Mpeg2VCR to edit any unwanted parts, usually just a few seconds here and there when my video cuts to commercial. The older basketball games don't do a nice fade in and out like they do now.
I tried to burn a disk, Taiyo Yuden, of which I've burned hundreds with only a handful of coasters. Same results on my portable Phillips DVD player and my home Pioneer.
I have Nero installed, not too sure which version, and normally only use it with DVD Shrink in burning existing DVD Folders. And honestly, if Ulead's programs can't get along with other programs that I've got installed, I'd just as soon get my money back.
So, I import the video into 5, make my menus and all that and then preview them and it works fine. I use a thumbnail in the first menu, add my own background, and in my sub menu, I use a video and audio background with 4 thumbnails. After burn, it simply starts playing the video instead of giving the user the option to pick which point he wishes to start at.
