I've never made a VCD, but I found this on Wikipedia:
Since the overall bit rate of VCD is approximately equal to the bit rate of an ordinary audio CD, the length of video that can be stored is similar to that of a CD: a standard 74-minute CD can hold about 74 minutes of VCD-format video.
So, I assume you can stretch it to 80 minutes with an 80 minute CD.

Of course, you can fit 90 minutes of good quality video and Dolby AC3 audio on a DVD-R! :P

Are you burning to CD-R :?:

How large are your discs?

A standard 80-minute VCD mpeg video will be about 800mb, and that should burn fine as a VCD to an 80-minute CD-R (700mb).

Have you tried to make an image file, then burning the image file in a separate step (I don't know if that will work, I'm just guessing that the software thinks you have a standard 700mb cdr).
