Does anyone know if this there is a way to insert several songs into the slideshow using the Movie Wizard approach? I have about 400 pictures that I need to put in a single slideshow and one song isn't going to cut it, especially since some of the pictures call for a different kind of music than others. I want to be able to use the command that automatically adjusts the slide duration to the tempo, so I can't put this together in the Editor.

Hi orpioneer
Now that¡¦s confused me, not your post but the one on the previous page.
I cannot for the life of me remember posting on Monday, till I saw the date, its 2006.
Coincidence, it got me thinking all the same.
Anyhow, movie wizard slide show:-
Assuming you wish to display each image for approximately 5 seconds.
At 400 images that¡¦s about 33 minutes of slide show, 33 minutes of music.
A few songs worth.
Afaik there is no way that the wizard will accept more than one music file.
You could of course create a 33 minute audio compilation. Not sure how VS will react to such a large file, or whether the analyse process will be successful.
Another option would be to create several slide shows, with sufficient images to fit the individual music files.
The completed Vsp¡¦s being rendered to Mpeg and later stitched together.
The manual approach is another option.
Use the Video Editor.
Play the music, marking the chapter points to indicate the beats.
Add the images to the duration of the beats.(chapter points)
A lot of work.
Good luck
Trevor

Hi
Once you have made the first slide show the project is opened in the Editor.
I would edit out the ending titles etc
Render this to a single file DV or DVD.
Use movie wizard to create the next, edit this removing the start and end titles.
Render again.
When you have all complete place them all in a new project.
A lot of work, and I am sure there is a better way.
My preference would be to use the editor:-
Set the preferences to 12 seconds for images, 4 seconds for transitions.
Use random transitions.
Set a colour clip at the start, then insert all images.
All transitions would auto insert, (I replace the Album ones To long to render)
Add the audio using both timelines, this allows you to overlay the start and end of the audio clips.
If you have done your maths correctly, then the end should be close, you may have to add or remove the odd image or change the duration.
You may be surprised how often the images hit the beat.
Now add a title or two.
Regards

The way I would do it is to create one slideshow to match one song then open it in the editor and move to the end of the timeline. From there go to the tools menu and call up the movie editor again and make a further slideshow using your next song. It will be automatically added to the end of the of the first one you created.
Keep adding to it like this until you have included all 400 of your photos and then create a disc.
Good Luck

I forgot to mention that with the movie maker you can select more than one song at a time - I guess it depends if you want to match the song to particular photos. If you do select a group of songs then after the movie maker has done it's thing then you may wish to manually tidy up the parts where one song ends and the next begins - perhaps with a transition to black or some other effect.

Thanks for the info,
I didnt realise that the wizard accepted more than one audio file.
May be that answers the OP's question.
I think i will be looking into the wizard a bit more closely.
Even so, i think i will stick with the manual approach and the video editor.
Thanks Again
