I capture using Compro DTV. This captures sound and video in a mp4 format.
I then use ulead VS8. I have done this on many occasion, I then upload using megaupload and share a wmv file on line.
However it doesnt seem to be caputring the sound on the last two occasions. I can hear teh sound on the mpg on windows media player but not once i insert the video in the time line and ask to share no sound.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Lina,
Since you are using VS8, I suspect that the audio is Doby Digital. VS8 did not support Dolby Digital without purchasing an optional plug-in at a cost of about $30 (US). I don't think that plug-in is available any longer. You may be able to locate a freebie, that would allow you to hear the audio in VS, but record to it.
Right-click on the video file and select properties, what audio properties are listed?
FWIW, VS10+ supports Dolby 5.1 audio natively, and is well worth the upgrade for that, and that it has 6 overlay tracks to work with..

I've noticed some audio problems when I capture in MPEG Video/AC3 audio, then convert save directly to a WMV. The audio in the finished WMV has some crackle, using VS10+.
There are several audio and visual problems while you view MPEG videos of course, but other than this I haven't found them showing up in the output video/DVD.
