I am not sure how to save a file with the images into the edit board without having to go back to the VS file it keeps popping up a relink/skip window and my images are gone from the time line. What gives? Thanks for your help it is tremendously appreciated!

I am not sure I fully understand your question. When you say 'images', do you mean still images (i.e. photos) or video? If you mean that you want to save your images into a new file in the same working directory as your project, then you have to use Windows File Manager/My Computer for that.
If you just save the project file of which the images are part, that is a.VSP file which simply stands for Video Studio Project. It is not an image or video format file: it simply tells the program what files are involved in the project, and where they are located (plus what edits have been done to them). But if you move the images to another directory or drive, or worse, delete them from your computer, then the VSP file cannot find them and asks you to re-link them so that it can record where they are now. Until they are re-linked, you get blank spaces in the timeline.
As an afterthought, if your image files are on an external hard drive, and the drive is turned off, then the VSP file also can't find them and will want to re-link them. This is corrected by first turning on the external drive, and then re-opening the project.

Your question is so short that it isn't really clear to me.
In Video Studio, you can "save" your work as you go along. But when you save, you do not change the video. If you have put images into he video, they do not get transferred there when you save. If you have added titles, you can save, but they are not inserted into the video you are making.
Saving your work just creates a little VSP file. The VSP file tells Video Studio what to do to your video when you "share" and create the new video file with a new name.
After using Share, you WILL have a new video file with all your images and titles. You will also have your old video file, unchanged.

Let me try to clarify- I am using still photos, jpegs and draging them from the image menu onto the edit board. I drag say three or four of the images, save as ... go out of videostudio. Then I go back to the project and it says and in the edit board my images are gone replaced by a black and white grid of sorts even though the time duration is the same and then it says it cannot relink images. How do I save the project and resume where I left off keeping the images on the edit board.
Thank You to all--

Hi Scott,
Are the images being used, on a CD or DVD? If so is that disc still in the tray when you try opening your project the second time? The images in the "image menu" which is called a Library in VS, are just thumbnail links, and not the actually image. You must have the images in the same directory as they were when you started your project. If not VS asks to relink, because it can not find them.
So if you are using images from a disc, it would be better to copy them to a folder on your hard drive.
Could this be what is happening in your case?
