I have used PI XL and PI 10 and recently bought myself PI 11. I have never had any problems with the previous versions and only bought the new versions for the RAW format updates.
I uninstalled my previous version of PI and installed my new PI 11 and went straight into editing photos. The only problem is that when I went to view the edited photos with compupic pro the images are very washed out. I also get the same washed out view when viewing the edited photos in Irfanview.
In desperation I unistalled PI 11 and reinstalled PI 10 and opened the edited photos in PI 10. And yes they were washed out in that as well. I'm presuming it has something to do with the 'Colour Management' preferences. I have played around with every option in there but can't get the image to look anything like it should.
Is there something else I can play around with to sort this out ? Getting a bit frustrated !!
TIA

PI10 and PI11 use the same Color Management System, which uses sRGB an Industry Standard.
You haven’t offered enough information to make a better diagnosis. I would suspect RAW import.
However, when using PI11, in the mean time, you might change to the Advanced Workspace. Then on the Command Menu open Express Fix, or press F10 to call the Express fix Dialog Box. Or use Auto-process to automatically correct you pics.

Thanks for the advice but they are things I already do. Maybe I didn't explain it enough so I will try again. It's not just RAW photos that its happening to. As an example: I have a .jpg of my son taken quite some years ago that is on my HDD. The same image is also up on the web on my homepage. When I just view this image from Compupic pro it looks fine. When I view it from the Web it looks fine. When I view it from Irfanview it looks fine. When I view it from Photoshop CS2 it looks fine. When I open the same photo from PhotoImpact 11 it looks very dark. If I now edit this photo from Photoimpact 11 so that it looks 'right' either manually or using the express fix and then view it from any other program it then looks very washed out.
I hope that makes more sense.
Thanks

Sorry to be so sticky it can be a dozen things, but try the following:
Try turning off Color Management by uncheking the feature.
Then in File/Preferences/Category:/System/Display, on the Display dialog box, slowly change the Gamma setting from 1.8 and lower to increase darkness, or 1.8 and upward to increase lightness.
The standard for some programs is 1.0 the lightest or 2.2 the darkest. You may have to go lower or higher in an attempt to match the change in Gamma.
Much of the above can be caused by Monitor, Video Card, or Adobe Gamma. If the above sugggestion does not work try deleting Adobe Gamma from the Startup Folder. Then reset Ulead's Gamma to 1.8 and try again.
