VideoStudio 10+ and VS9

Post by Cratto »

Hello, I'm new to this group. I just in stalled Videostudio 10+ last night on my computer. Before I installed it I uninstalled VS9. I wish I had done that.
Is there any problems if I reinstall VS9 with VS10+ on the same computer? I'm having a problem with VS10+ with High-Quality Playback, it's saying I can't do it with the project properties I have. But there the same settings I had for VS9. Has anyone run it to this?

Hi

There should be no problems in installing version 9 and 10 on the same pc.

Saying that there are several common / shared files that may be of concern.

But if you install vs 9 first then 10 you should be ok. Installing 9 last may overwrite the shared files.

If you have problems:-
You may have to re-install vs 10 selecting ‘repair’ from the splash screen.

Many users have several versions installed without problems.
You can only run one version at a time.

Your problem with high quality play back seems strange.
Check the properties of the video file in the timeline.
What are they?

Hope this Helps

I have VS9 installed on my comp. Then later I install VS10Plus without remove VS9. And both still work nomally, but u can only run one version only at the time.....

To make easy handle, pls separate the main folder. So if C:\Program Files\Ulead System\VS9.0 then make C:\Program Files\ULEAD SYSTEM2\VS10.

Although I believe if you install in same main folder C:\Program Files\Ulead System\ then it will create each folder version but IMHO better to split up in main folder.

Thank you and hope u success,

The default installation paths are
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 9.0
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10

The two versions are independant of each other.
There are certain shared files amongst all Ulead products (not just VideoStudio) these are located at
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems

You will also find files located here:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\9.0
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\10.0

Also each user account you may have created will have files
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\9.0
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\10.0

Therefore just accept the default installation paths and everything will work just fine.
