Why The Slow Down?

Post by wertygrog »

Hello, I have recently started using VideoStudio 10, and I have created a project which includes (goofy) fight scenes. I captured from my miniDV camera and edited in AVI. When it was done, I rendered to my desktop in NTSC: SVCD format. I will be putting it on a CD to bring to school. It works, and the audio/video is synchronized properly, but it runs slower in the SVCD format than it does in the VS10 project preview....the fight scenes seem almost slow motion.....what is the problem? :)

Thanks for your help, I love this forum,
Brent.

If you mean the final SVCD disc seems to play slower, then the only thing I can think of is that SVCDs can't be played properly (or at all) on quite a lot of stand-alone DVD players. You have to really check the manual for each player. Some will play VCDs but not SVCDs, others won't play either of these. And indeed, some of the more expensive brand-name DVD players even have difficulty playing certain kinds of home-made DVDs (let alone VCD/SVCDs)!

hi ken,
Actually I just rendered it to the desktop.....and opened it in windows media player from there. Is this a no-no? It ran slow.....not jerky or anything, just slowed down noticably. Any ideas? :?

thanks,
Brent
