While going into video editing, what spec is better in the choice of a motherboard: VGA card on board or "off-board"? And why?

Off Board is better. On-Board used system memory. Not as much and not as fas as an Off-Board video card. Even if it has on-board video, you can usually disable it to use another video card, if the motherboard has a AGP slot or a PCI-X slot.
I like cards with the NVidia chip set. I dont know if VS10 has a preference of card/chipset. Maybe someone els can chime in about that.
