Help activating PhotoImpact 11

Well, I type in my activation key, click active, and I get an error saying it cannot connect to the server.

My norton internet security & firewall are both off, so I dont know why it's not letting me connect.

I am not quite sure, but somebody might have mentioned that you actually cannot activate trial- you have to uninstall and reinstall downloaded upgrade/full version.
