I am using JVC Digital Video Camera Model # GR-HD(u)1. It is connected via i.LINK/Firewire connector. ULVS10+ selected device is: MS 1394 Device Control, all others are rejected. ULVS10+ program recognizes and operates the camera as expected. Fault/Exception occurs within 5-15 seconds after digital transfer is started. The first observation is that there is no video or audio preview of the recorded material even though that option is selected. The following alerts from the program then follow, “No Video Was Captured: Please check if there is any input signal. There may be no device.” And then when the stop capture is selected, “Capture Failed: The created file is corrupted and unstable. It will be automatically deleted.”
The program will capture analog from the same camera but then what’s the point of upgrading from the previous version…
Hopefully someone has found a solution. Tech support had no suggestion other then to request a refund for my purchase.

The Camcorder compatibitiy chart doesn't have GR-HD1 listed. Link to list:

Your camera was supported in VS9 with the HD plug-in, I don't know why tech support didn't tell you your camera wasn't supported.
You might want to download the Movie Factory 5 trial, it has a better capture module, it might work with your camers.
